Any attempt to stop the settlement without making the proposed preliminary investigation would be an irresponsible gamble. Since I have witnessed many gambles of this kind I can state from personal experience that the savings associate with inadequate preliminary investigations are entirely out of proportion to the financial risks.”

We are pleased to offer new website exclusively devoted to the Journal of Engineering Geology. I am extremely thankful to the President, Secretary, Treasurer and the entire Council for support and encouragement in this endeavor. The website has many features such as facility for uploading your papers, display of contents and abstracts of the latest issue of the Journal, easy access to the editor so that authors can get answers to their queries quickly.

Guidelines and template for submission of papers are also available which are to be followed by the authors. This is going to facilitate more efficient and rapid processing of the papers so that they can be published as fast as possible. We have planned to bring out the news letter in April and October whereas Journal of Engineering Geology is scheduled for June and December. This means that the editorial office will be quite busy throughout the year but this also reflects that we can interact more frequently and the articles and papers are published when issues are fresh and require attention.

It is my earnest appeal to all Companies both Government and Private engaged in any kind of activity related to engineering geology, geotechnical and the environment to contribute with advertisements. The rates for advertisement are given in the website and also in the latest issue of newsletter. Individuals and Consultants who wish to donate for the ISEG are welcome to do so. Their names will be displayed at the website for five years just as advertisements.
Best regards
